Downtown Richmond Branch Museum Engagement

Today we are sharing Libbie and Donovan’s Downtown Richmond Branch Museum Engagement session that we just stayed here in Richmond at the Branch Museum and finished up at Libby Hill.

They had to schedule this session before Donovan left for the service.  He’s in the navy, and has orders to go overseas, so we wanted to fit this in before they left.

I always get nervous when one of our couples is in the service and is going to be overseas before the wedding. I do not know how the significant other handles the stress of planning a wedding without easy communication and being unsure of arrival dates, and leave dates, and all of that. So much respect for everyone who has to deal with that.

It was a pretty cold day but really it was the wind that made it feel so freezing. I can’t imagine having worn Libbie’s dress in this temperature. So we pivoted from doing our session at Libby Hill to being more in the city where we would be a little bit protected by some surrounding buildings. Definitely was the right choice and glad that they were so flexible to be able to do that.

Speaking of Libbie’s dress – I absolutely loved it. She said that she had almost picked a navy but then read our engagement prep emails and information that we sent out and decided on a blush dress. And oh my gosh it was absolutely perfect, so gorgeous.

Donovan wore his dress blues which just always looks so sharp. One of my favorite pictures is Donovan dipping Libbie. It gives off that like iconic ‘coming back from war photo’. V-J Day in Times Square

Enjoy a few of our many favorites from this Downtown Richmond Branch Museum Engagement session – congrats you guys!
