Whitehall Estate Bluemont Wedding

Today we are sharing Alanna and Niall’s wedding at Whitehall Estate. But this was their second wedding because they had a ceremony where they officially got married last year. But postponed the large reception and celebration with all their friends and family until this year.

You can see their original wedding ceremony here.

We adore Alanna and Niall as well as the entire Meehan family. We have shot both of her cousins weddings (here and here) who were her matrons of honor. It just felt like we were amongst friends the entire day.

Irish wedding toasts

I think one of my favorite parts of the day were all of the toasts. Not just because one of the toasts were from our past brides. But they were all good. Her father and her godfather who is her cousin’s dad also give a toast. I loved that at the end he tried to do an Irish blessing (the whole day had so many Irish touches) but he totally butchered it so the entire reception had to help him get through it.

I loved that Caitlin and Emily commented that when Alanna brought Niall home (a true Irishman) her grandmother was thrilled and they knew they could never beat her in anything in their grandmother’s eyes.

Whitehall Estate wedding venue

I think one of my favorite parts was just Whitehall Estate in general. It’s such a beautiful venue and there are so many gorgeous places to shoot. It’s sort of set in among rolling hills and has a gorgeous historic building and trees throughout the property that it made it really stunning in the fall. And since we didn’t get a ton of time the last time we were there to photograph around the property it was nice to be able to do that this time. The building itself is also beautiful and has large windows that let in tons of light which is so nice.

Even better is that they had done some renovations to the building since we were there last year. So it was even more beautiful than before.

Ben, who was the same DJ for all three of these brides, was there and we took a picture altogether.  It’s so nice to work with vendor friends.

I also liked all their personal details. They had an awesome neon sign with their name, and lots of fall pumpkins.

Did you see their card box was a pumpkin with a slot in it? Crafternoon for next year?

That neon sign was really well used.  So many people were taking pictures with it throughout the night.  They had lots of good promps with it. Also, the late night snacks and bar were right beside it, so it was in a great location.

They were so laid back and so relaxed all day.  They just had such a great attitude, even at their first ceremony were things were running behind.  That is just so great to see at weddings.  It makes it celebratory, not stressful.
