Hey friends! Today we’re sharing Meghan and Drew’s incredible VMFA Richmond museum wedding at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. This day was filled with friendship, laughter, and the most genuine joy! Truly one of those weddings that reminds us why we love what we do.
First things first — the VMFA is one of our favorite Richmond wedding venues for so many reasons.
It’s centrally located, easy to access from anywhere in the city, and has plenty of parking for all your guests. It’s also one of those spaces that offers a ton of variety in a small area. Whether it’s the front columns and patio steps, the gorgeous courtyard, or even the quiet side section near the Pauley’s Center, there’s always beautiful light and endless backdrops to choose from.
Even on busy museum days, it’s easy to tuck away into a peaceful corner for portraits. Whether you need open shade on a sunny afternoon or a private moment before the ceremony, the VMFA delivers every time.
We love how we were able to set up Meghan and Drew’s first look in front of the museum — totally private, just the two of them. It gave them a quiet moment to see each other for the first time before the whirlwind of the day began.
From the very beginning, we knew Meghan and Drew were something special. We first met them at their engagement session at the Museum of History and Culture, right next door to the VMFA. From that day, we could tell they were the type of couple who make everyone around them feel at ease — kind, thoughtful, and completely genuine.
And their wedding day reflected exactly that. Every guest seemed to adore them. People lined up just to chat, grab a photo, or share a hug… it honestly felt like being around two local celebrities.
But the best part? Meghan and Drew’s focus wasn’t on themselves. They went out of their way to make sure every guest felt appreciated and included. That kind of warmth and generosity is rare — and it made the entire celebration feel personal and joyful.
Okay, let’s talk about speeches.
Usually, long speeches can be a gamble, but at this VMFA wedding, every single one was absolutely perfect. Meghan’s dad spoke. Her brothers spoke. Drew’s brothers spoke. And every one of them had the entire room completely captivated.
They shared stories that made everyone laugh out loud, and others that had people tearing up. You could tell every guest was deeply connected to these two — reacting to every word, smiling through every memory.
At one point, we found ourselves photographing the reactions in the crowd more than the speakers themselves, just because everyone’s faces told such beautiful stories of love and connection.
From start to finish, Meghan and Drew’s wedding day at the VMFA was a reflection of who they are — thoughtful, gracious, and full of laughter. Every moment felt intentional, every interaction meaningful.
We left the evening feeling inspired and grateful to have witnessed a day so full of heart.
Congratulations, Meghan and Drew — you two are truly something special. We loved celebrating with you and can’t wait for everyone to relive your day through a few of our many favorite images below.
