The Foundry Golf Club Virginia Wedding

Hey friends! Today we’re sharing Lexi and Carter’s the Foundry Golf Club Virginia wedding day, and this one was such a fun mix of beautiful scenery, intentional details, and an incredible party. Their wedding took place just outside of Richmond in The Foundry Golf Club, and it quickly became one of those days we won’t forget anytime soon.

If you’re dreaming of a golf course wedding in Virginia with a laid-back, social atmosphere and stunning natural views, this day is going to inspire you.

A Ceremony with a View (and a Cannon!)

Lexi and Carter chose to have their ceremony facing out toward the golf course and creek instead of toward the Carriage House and it made all the difference. The open views, the water, and the surrounding greenery created such a peaceful and scenic backdrop.

And then… the cannon.

The Foundry is known for firing a cannon at the end of the ceremony, and we thought we were ready for it. We were not. It went off right as they were kissing, and it was equal parts shocking and amazing. It completely set the tone for the rest of the celebration.. fun, memorable, and a little unexpected in the best way.

Thoughtful Details That Fit the Setting

One of our favorite parts of this wedding was how cohesive everything felt without being overdone.

The bridesmaids wore a mix of dresses in different shades of green, many from Anthropologie’s bridal line, and it perfectly complemented the golf course setting. It felt elevated but still relaxed (exactly the vibe of the day).

The florals were especially meaningful. One of the bridesmaid’s dads (Tommy’s Garden) handled all the floral design, and everything from Lexi’s bouquet to the reception arrangements was stunning. Even though the reception space itself was fairly minimal, the florals added just the right amount of texture and softness.

And honestly, at a venue like The Foundry, you don’t need much. The space speaks for itself.

An Indoor-Outdoor Reception That Kept the Party Going

The reception space at The Foundry is one of our favorite features. It’s covered, but it has that open, screened-in feel that makes it feel like you’re outside the entire time.

With the bar open to the outdoors and the creek just steps away, guests were able to mingle, explore, and enjoy the perfect weather all night long. It never felt confined or overly structured it was just easy and fun.

Lexi and Carter leaned fully into that energy by having a live band, and the dance floor stayed packed the entire night. Truly, we don’t think Lexi left the dance floor unless it was to grab Carter and bring him right back.

Sneaking Away for Sunset Photos (At the Right Time)

We made the call to do their “sunset” portraits a little earlier, and it ended up being the perfect decision.

Once the dancing started, there was no way they were leaving that party and honestly, we wouldn’t have wanted them to. The light by the creek was beautiful, and because everything at The Foundry is so close together, we didn’t have to go far at all to get some of our favorite images of the day.

A Photo Booth Worth Talking About

We have to talk about the photo booth for a second because it was not your typical wedding setup.

Instead of an open backdrop, this was a true, enclosed booth the kind you step inside, pull the curtain, and get that nostalgic experience. It made everything feel a little more personal and a lot more fun.

Guests could still get digital copies instantly, which was such a great mix of old-school charm and modern convenience. And yes, we were absolutely told to go in and take our own photos and we’re very glad we did.

The Beauty of Fine Creek and Powhatan

One of the things that makes this location so special is its proximity to Fine Creek. The creek runs right through the property, and unlike some venues where water features feel tucked away, here it’s fully part of the experience.

Plus, the logistics are incredibly convenient with getting ready spaces on-site, nearby spots for the guys to hang out beforehand, and everything within a short distance. It makes the entire wedding day feel seamless.

A Venue That Truly Takes Care of You

One detail that stood out to us (and honestly doesn’t get talked about enough) was the level of service.

The staff at The Foundry made sure Lexi and Carter were constantly taken care of.. offering drinks, food, and checking in throughout the night. On a wedding day, that kind of attention is huge. It allows you to actually enjoy the experience instead of worrying about the little things.

A Wedding Full of Energy, Joy, and Intention

At the end of the day, this wedding felt like Lexi and Carter in every way. From the music to the movement of the day to the focus on being present with their people it all came together so naturally.

They even brought their dogs for a quick appearance (which, if you know them, was completely necessary), and it was one of those small moments that made the day feel even more personal.

This was one of those weddings where everything just worked.. the setting, the people, the energy.. and we’re so excited to finally share it.

Between the views, the layout, and the overall experience, it’s an incredible option for couples who want a beautiful space that still feels relaxed and fun.

For now, enjoy some of our favorite images from Lexi and Carter’s wedding day.

Congratulations, you two!
