Belmont Country Club wedding

Today we are sharing Madeline and Wes’ wedding day that we shot this past weekend at Belmont Country Club in Leesburg, Virginia in Northern Virginia.

Madeline and Wes might look familiar because we just shared their engagement session.  Wes did a lot of planning for this as Madeline is going through Law school.  They are such a sweet couple.  Wes is from Texas and has this beautiful southern charm and hospitality to him.  And Madeline has such a calm, wonderful energy about her.

Wes couldn’t take his eyes off Madeline the entire day. Which was such a pleasure to photograph because all their interactions were so sweet.

Belmont is an absolutely beautiful wedding venue. It’s sort of has two wings to it. One side is the historic Manor House that has all of these really unique and historical details. The other side is the sort of new build where the reception took place.

I thought it was really neat that the cocktail hour was throughout the Manor house so you could walk around with your drink and sort of tour it.  It was a cool bit of entertainment to have during cocktail hour.

Wes’ dad gave part of the welcome speech and asked about how many people came from far away.  And pretty much the entire room was raising their hands.  So many people came from such a distance to celebrate with Madeline and Wes. You could tell they were really feeling the love.

Ideas you should steal from this Classic Belmont Country Club wedding

So here’s three things you should steal from Madeline and Wes if you’re planning your own wedding.

1 – the Traditional details at Belmont

They keep all their details really class and didn’t have many trendy elements. The guys all wore a tux with a proper bowtie. Also, they had classic cufflinks as gifts for all the groomsmen.  It really tied into their manor house with the traditional elements.

2 – a Kid’s room at the country club

There were a lot of kids at this wedding. So to make sure that the adults could really enjoy themselves they had a room set up for the kids to be able to watch a movie while the reception was going on. It was just a really smart way to make sure that everyone who is there was having a good time. You could see the parents walking into the reception space get so excited that the kids were going to have some entertainment so that they could really relax and enjoy themselves during the wedding reception.

Also seemed like they had planned for some of the older kids, the teenagers, to go and check on the kids and be there to sort of babysit.

3 – Use Family talents at your wedding

I had an orchestra for their ceremony that was made up of all family members. It was a really cool detail that include that classic touch while tying in really sentimental, personal things at the same time. Such a good idea to utilize friends and families talents who want to be there and help out on the wedding day.

Also – Wes proposed using the coolest engagement ring.  He had her ring made using 2 of his grandmothers’ wedding rings.  Then when he told Madeline’s family, they gave up some of their own family jewelry to be the gold for her rings. I mean such a beautiful symbol of these two families coming together.

Enjoy a few of our many favorites from this Belmont Country Club wedding day.

Congrats you guys!
