Edgewood Barn Charlottesville Spring Wedding

Last weekend we shot our first wedding of 2021 and it felt like our first wedding in a million years. It really felt different this time.

In the car on the way to Edgewood Michael was like.. how do we do this? But it was like riding a bike.

The Barn at Edgewood – Charlottesville Spring Wedding

The Barn at Edgewood was the perfect venue, and Amber and Josh were the perfect couple to start of our wedding season.

It was all the perfect set up for getting back into weddings.

Great couple, amazing venue, perfect weather, and mission barbecue. It was the perfect day.

We were really nervous it was going to rain the whole day.. but it didn’t rain until we got into the car.

They had really positive attitudes and were so great. Amber said she got the good luck of it raining on your wedding day without having to actually deal with the rain.

They had a planner. Pro tip.. if you want a well run day. If you want a calm day. If you want be that relaxed bridal party. HIRE A PLANNER!

Also Edgewood is perfect, but.

The great thing about Edgewood is it’s a beautiful property, with a gorgeous barn. But they also have two apartments on the top so they girls can get ready on one side and the guys can get ready on the other side. Then you just walk downstairs to take pictures and get the ceremony.

It’s so wonderful that if it had been around when we got married.. I would have had everyone drive to Charlottesville (Stanardsville area) for our wedding. It’s just that perfect.

Just after the ceremony at Edgewood Barn Charlottesville Spring Wedding

What was your favorite moment?

My favorite part of this wedding (and it’s one of my favorite parts of every wedding day) is immediately following the ceremony. When the bride and groom walk down the aisle and get a second to themselves to soak in the fact that they are finally married.

It’s always a little different and always so sweet.

Amber and Josh got married, did their ceremony, just in front of the barn at the arbor right in front of the pond there. And so after exiting their ceremony they immediately went inside the barn. So they walk into the barn. Amber hugs onto Josh, Josh wipes some tears. And Amber looked up at Josh and said through tears “I’m just so happy”. It was so cute. They are such an adorable couple.

Everyone acts a little differently to having a moment, or their family coming up. But theirs was just so sweet.

Enjoy a few of our very, very many favorites from Amber & Josh’s wedding day.

Congrats!
