Hey friends, how’s it going? Today we’re finally back sharing a wedding, and this one was such a good one. Lindsey and Chris got married at the University of Richmond, and honestly… it was one of those perfect Virginia wedding days you just wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

The weather? Unreal. Sunshine, warm without being too hot (okay maybe just slightly warm if you ask Michael), and just one of those days where every time you step outside you’re like… wow, this is it. This is why people get married in the spring.

A University of Richmond Chapel Wedding

We have to talk about the University of Richmond Chapel for a second, because it really is one of our favorite ceremony spaces in Virginia.

There are a lot of beautiful churches out there, but the light in this one is what sets it apart. The windows bring in the perfect amount of natural light, which makes such a difference not just for photos, but for how the whole ceremony feels. It’s bright, warm, and just really inviting.

And if you’ve been around here for a bit, you know we’re always thinking about where things actually photograph best.. not just what seems like the obvious choice. A lot of times, couples want family formals right at the altar, and sometimes that works… but sometimes there’s a lot going on in the background.

At the University of Richmond Chapel, though? We’ll take those altar photos all day. The stairs create this natural separation and depth, so you get clean, beautiful backgrounds (and in this case, a gorgeous organ and florals), plus that same amazing light. It’s kind of the best of both worlds.

A Seamless Virginia Wedding Day

One of our favorite parts of this day was how everything flowed. The ceremony was a little earlier than typical, which meant guests got to enjoy that perfect Virginia weather all afternoon.

Their reception at the Jepson Alumni Center had this really fun indoor-outdoor feel. Doors were open, people were drifting outside to chat and hang out, while others were inside on the dance floor. It felt relaxed in the best way, like everyone could just enjoy the day however they wanted.

Also, quick note: Lindsey and Chris had the best group of people around them. Big bridal party, and every single person was supportive, fun, and just genuinely excited to be there. That kind of energy makes such a difference on a wedding day.

Final Thoughts

Between the light-filled Chapel ceremony, the beautiful University of Richmond campus, and a group of people who just fully showed up for their friends, it was one of those weddings that reminds us why we love what we do.

Lindsey and Chris, you guys absolutely nailed it. We’re so excited for you.
