We’re so excited to share something a little different — and extra special — today: a beautifully curated styled shoot at Bienvenue, a new and up-and-coming Richmond wedding venue located right in the heart of Powhatan, Virginia.
Bienvenue is a historic estate turned elegant wedding venue. From its restored manor house to expansive lawns and barns, this space has the character of a destination venue with the convenience of being just outside of Richmond. It’s charming, full of possibility, and quickly becoming one of our favorite places to photograph.
We wanted to show off just how versatile and stunning Bienvenue truly is — so we teamed up with an amazing lineup of vendors to create a full wedding-day experience, from getting ready to reception. The best part? Our bride and groom models, Michelle and Mitch, are one of our real past couples — which brought an extra layer of joy to the day.
Cat McCarthy was our first call for video, and she’s simply the best. Calm, creative, and a total pro on wedding days, Cat is someone we always recommend to our couples. Her approach to filming is effortless and editorial — a perfect complement to the vibe at Bienvenue. If you’re planning your wedding here, having Cat capture it on film will bring your story to life in the most beautiful way.
The florals were designed by the incredibly generous team at King William Florist — and when we say generous, we mean it. They surprised us with extra florals and décor elements that took this shoot to the next level. Their work is consistently fresh, romantic, and impactful, and they are a joy to collaborate with. We love seeing their name on a vendor list!
Kelsea of Radiant Reflection brought all the calm, polished energy you could want on a wedding day. She created two different hairstyles for Michelle — one for the ceremony and another for the reception look — and both were effortlessly elegant. Her ability to adapt quickly while keeping everything relaxed is exactly what makes her such a standout in the Richmond beauty scene.
We can’t say enough good things about Brocade Bridal. Located in Richmond and owned by the amazing Bryce (who is also a lead planner at Roberts & Co.), Brocade provided two gorgeous gowns for this shoot — each with its own unique flair. Their team, especially stylist Sadie, was such a joy to work with. They made the dress selection process fun, efficient, and exciting — exactly what every bride deserves.
Mitch looked sharp thanks to a stunning suit from Leora Bridal, located just outside of Richmond. They made the process easy and stylish — offering quick fittings and multiple looks to choose from. Whether you’re going classic or colorful, Leora’s team has something for every groom.
Sadie (yes, the same Sadie from Brocade!) also provided wedding content creation for the shoot. She worked quietly behind the scenes to capture video clips and Instagram-ready highlights — all delivered to our phones the same night. For couples who want immediate memories and behind-the-scenes moments, Sadie is your girl.
One of our favorite new discoveries was Jerad Romero, who provided live acoustic music for our ceremony and cocktail hour setups. His performance added warmth, charm, and sophistication to the shoot — and we couldn’t stop talking about how much we loved every song. Jerad is a gem, and live music at Bienvenue? Yes, please.
Emily Ripka of Faye Street Studios designed the invitation suite, and it was a total showstopper. From menu cards to name tags, she included thoughtful extras that elevated every flat lay and place setting. She’s as easy to work with as she is talented, and her designs added just the right finishing touch.
We worked with Classic Party Rentals for everything from linens and plates to those unforgettable chairs. They helped us style multiple full table setups that matched Bienvenue’s elevated yet approachable charm. Their team let us play around in the showroom (Thank you, Patrick!) to see combinations in real time, and it made a world of difference. If you’re getting married at Bienvenue, these rentals will fit right in.
Jae’s Cakes delivered the most stunning (and real!) three-tiered cake — not a faux one for photos, but a fully edible masterpiece. The detail was insane, and it tasted just as good as it looked. She nailed our vision and was so easy to collaborate with.
The MVP of the day was 100% Hali from Forevermore Events. Brought on late in the game, she jumped in and saved the day with her coordination and styling expertise. From organizing vendor timelines to adding beautiful little touches to our setups, she was magic. If you’re planning a wedding at Bienvenue — or anywhere — do yourself a favor and hire her.
This styled shoot was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community — and Bienvenue was the perfect backdrop for it all. Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic outdoor ceremony, a relaxed outdoor cocktail hour, or an elegant tent reception, this Richmond wedding venue truly has it all.
