Today we’re talking about Paige and Jon’s absolutely incredible Hermitage Country Club spring wedding day here in Richmond. From their ceremony at Hope Church (where Paige’s sister also got married!) to their joyful celebration at Hermitage Golf Course, this day was packed with sweet moments and intentional choices that we just loved.
Let’s start with the day before: it rained a bit, but by their wedding day? Gorgeous. Maybe we wished for a few extra clouds during the first look just to help with lighting (you know us), but truly, we hit the springtime wedding jackpot.
Paige and Jon started their day getting ready together—yes, together! And we are all about this trend. It made the whole morning feel relaxed and connected. Instead of totally separate spaces and a packed bridal party, they just hung out, practiced their first dance, and soaked it all in. They separated to finish getting ready, but then shared a beautiful first look.
Honestly, we hope more couples start doing this. One of our favorite things about first looks is that you get more time with your person. But getting ready together? Even more time. The most true cliché is that your wedding day goes by in the blink of an eye, so how amazing is it to be able to fit in more time together!?
Their ceremony at Hope Church’s lodge was so beautiful. One of our favorite things as wedding photographers is catching the little in-between moments—like the one right after the ceremony when it finally hits: We’re married. Watching them walk away together, embracing in that quiet moment? Pure magic.
Hermitage Country Club Spring Wedding Reception
Then it was off to Hermitage Country Club for the wedding reception. If you’ve never been, the setting is stunning—rolling greens, beautiful trees, a classic Richmond venue that’s perfect for spring weddings.
Before joining cocktail hour, Paige and Jon snuck away to a private room to share a drink and a snack—another intentional move we absolutely loved. And during dinner? They did the same. Instead of trying to eat while greeting a long line of guests (which happens so often), they stepped away again for a quiet dinner together. Genius.
We also loved how they greeted every table before dinner. They’d pop by, say a quick hi, grab a photo, and then release each table to the buffet. It was efficient, meaningful, and made sure they got to see everyone without being swarmed during their meal. Pro tip: If you’re looking for a way to see all your guests and get some food in your belly—this is it.
And maybe our favorite little moment? Paige and Jon actually asked us to grab a photo of just the two of them sitting together eating dinner. That might sound small, but it’s such a sweet memory to have. These are the kinds of moments that couples often overlook when planning their wedding photos, but they’re the ones you’ll treasure later.
They also had us grab a shot of the Hermitage balcony during cocktail hour—guests waving to the couple below. Another sweet memory.
Of course, the portraits at Hermitage Country Club were just dreamy. Even with a bustling golf course, the views were incredible from every angle.
And let’s talk about the band. AMAZING. Nothing beats a good live band when it comes to dancing the night away. It was the perfect ending to a truly joyful, relaxed, and meaningful spring wedding day.
Paige and Jon—we adore you. Thank you for letting us be part of your story.
