Today we’re sharing Jessica and Quint’s Hollyfield Manor Richmond Estate wedding day at Hollyfield, just north east of the city of Richmond, Virginia. And this is one of those Virginia wedding venues that feels like a hidden gem.
Hollyfield Manor is only about 30 minutes from Richmond, but once you’re there, it feels completely removed from the city. You’ve got a beautiful historic estate, gorgeous trees, a wide-open clearing, a beautiful lake, and a great reception space all in one place.
Hollyfield Manor is such a beautiful estate for a wedding. The house itself is historic and gorgeous, and the getting-ready spaces are actually great for both sides of the wedding party. That’s not always the case with wedding venues. Sometimes one side gets a beautiful suite and the other side gets a basement or some random room tucked away somewhere.
That is definitely not the case here. The reception space is beautiful, there’s plenty of room for portraits, and then you have this incredible lake right alongside the property. It really has everything you would want from a Virginia estate wedding venue. And because it’s just north of Richmond, it’s also incredibly convenient without feeling like you’re in the middle of the city.
We also have to talk about Jessica, who runs Hollyfield Manor, because she is incredible. She’s one of the best venue coordinators we’ve ever worked with. She’s very focused on taking care of her couples, but at the same time, she’s obviously protective of the property and knows how to run the venue really well. And somehow she manages to do all of that while still being incredibly approachable and welcoming.
We’ve seen this with other couples we’ve photographed at Hollyfield Manor, and it was definitely true for Jessica and Quint. At some point during the day, they were basically like, “I don’t want this to be over because I want to keep hanging out with you.” Every toast seemed to include a thank you to Jessica. That says a lot. When a couple spends part of their wedding day talking about how much they’re going to miss their venue coordinator, you know they’re doing something right.
Jessica and Quint had actually buried the bourbon before their wedding day, so we’re going to give them credit for the weather. It was warm earlier in the day, but by the time the ceremony rolled around, everything just kind of fell into place. The clouds came in, which kept everyone from staring directly into the sun, and the temperature cooled off enough that it felt really comfortable.
Hollyfield Manor also has a great covered porch, which is especially nice to have on a wedding day when you’re keeping an eye on the weather. But they didn’t end up needing it. Instead, they got this beautiful summer evening for their ceremony and the rest of the day.
Quint’s uncle officiated the ceremony, and he did such a great job. There’s just something different about having someone who knows you personally standing up there. The whole ceremony felt really personal and genuine, and it fit Jessica and Quint so well.
These two balance each other out so well. Quint is goofy, outgoing, fun, and just a little bit crazy in the most lovable way. Jessica is calmer, incredibly kind, friendly, and just genuinely loving. Put those two personalities together and it works. And that came through in their wedding day. They were surrounded by people who clearly love them, and the entire day felt relaxed and fun.
Quint would probably be the first person to tell you that photos aren’t exactly his favorite thing. He was pretty honest about that during their engagement session, too. But what we appreciated so much was that he also understood that the photos were important to Jessica. He never made us feel like we were asking too much of him. In fact, there were several times when he basically acknowledged, “I know I’m being annoying about this, but thank you.”
Jessica and Quint’s Hollyfield Manor wedding was such a good day from beginning to end. The venue was beautiful, the weather ended up being perfect, the ceremony was personal, the reception was a party, and these two were just so much fun to photograph.
We also loved getting to work with the Hollyfield Manor team again. Having people who genuinely care about their couples makes such a difference on a wedding day, and it’s easy to see why Jessica and Quint had such a great experience there. Hollyfield Manor really is one of those Virginia wedding venues that feels like a hidden gem just outside Richmond. A beautiful estate, a historic house, a gorgeous lake, great spaces for getting ready and celebrating, and a team that takes care of you.
And we love this couple so much. For now, enjoy a few of our many favorites from Jessica and Quint’s Hollyfield Manor wedding just north of Richmond, Virginia. Congrats, you guys!
