Dover Hall Richmond Wedding

Today we’re sharing Marissa and Jack’s stunning Dover Hall Virginia Wedding. And honestly, we can’t think of a more perfect fit for this couple than a black-tie celebration at Dover Hall.

If you’ve never been, Dover Hall is this incredible European-style estate just outside Richmond. It feels like a centuries-old mansion, but with all the modern luxury and drama you could dream of – grand staircases, stone archways, and chandeliers everywhere you turn. And somehow, Marissa and Jack managed to fill every inch of it with warmth, laughter, and pure joy.

A Ceremony Over the Pool (Yes, Really)

They held their ceremony right over the iconic Dover Hall pool — literally constructing a clear stage above the water so guests could sit on either side. It was epic, to say the least. We were all anxiously watching the forecast that day, but the rain held off completely. Not even a sprinkle. Instead, we got this beautiful, glowy light that made the ceremony feel like a scene from a movie.

Family-Focused and Full of Heart

This wedding was such a beautiful celebration of family. Marissa and Jack both have kids — teenagers and younger — who made up their entire wedding party. Marissa’s daughter and her close childhood friends spent the morning getting ready together, blasting Taylor Swift. Jack’s two sons stood by his side as groomsmen.

It was clear from the start that this day wasn’t just about the two of them — it was about showing their kids what love, joy, and togetherness look like. During dinner, instead of traditional speeches, Marissa and Jack took the mic to thank everyone for coming. Marissa said something that made us both tear up: ‘We wanted our kids to see that this is what life is about — celebrating, being surrounded by friends and family, and JOY’.

It was such a powerful, emotional moment that perfectly captured the heart of their day.

An Elegant Black Tie Celebration

Bryce from Roberts and Co. Events planned the day to perfection — every detail felt effortless and elevated. The ceremony took place outdoors, dinner was held in Dover Hall’s breathtaking glass hall, and the reception moved inside to the ballroom for dancing late into the night.

The florals by Erica at Black Creek Florals were beyond spectacular — lush arrangements filled with candles and drapery that made the glass hall feel like dining under the night sky. Marissa told us she wanted the space to feel “like a starry night” and they absolutely nailed it.

Everywhere you looked, something magical was happening — laughter echoing from the ballroom, lanterns glowing along the glass walls, and people sneaking away to grab dessert upstairs. (Banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery shipped in from New York City!)

The Perfect Dover Hall Richmond Wedding

The dance floor stayed packed all night — kids, parents, friends, everyone — until the very last song. It was one of those nights where you could just feel the love in the air.

We loved every second of photographing Marissa and Jack’s black-tie Richmond wedding at Dover Hall. It was elegant, emotional, and so much fun — a perfect mix of family, celebration, and a whole lot of dancing.

Marissa and Jack, we adore you both. Congratulations again — and enjoy a few of our many favorites from this Dover Hall Richmond Wedding!
