Marriott Ranch Virginia Summer Wedding

Today we are sharing Annie and Santiago’s Marriott Ranch Virginia Summer Wedding day. They just got married in Northwest Virginia at the Marriott Ranch in Hume.

Michael loves driving through this area – with the gorgeous rolling hill and old English style rock walls.

The Marriott Ranch

What’s really funny about this video is that it’s a bed-and-breakfast. So their bridal party or family members were able to spend the entire weekend there. Which means your wedding day is really expanded and you get a full wedding weekend.

It has a beautiful historic home on the property. But it also has rolling hills, a gorgeous fence line, and a really fun reception space.

Which actually saw Annie and Santiago right when we got there – they were on the beautiful staircase that is in the middle of the home getting married. They actually had a friend officiate for them and didn’t realize that he needed to be licensed in Virginia and so they had to scramble the morning off to have someone come in officially marry them. So word to the wise if you’re having a friend officiate make sure that you can make it official.

Runners – Marriott Ranch Virginia Summer Wedding

Another fun thing that they did the morning of is decide to go on a run together. We actually took a photo with their running shoes and watches that mapped out their course. Hysterically they thought that 3 miles was an embarrassing length of a run. (Can’t tell you the last time Michael and I ran 3 miles). But they are huge athletes and love doing triathlons. It was really fun that we decided to carve out a little bit of time in the morning of the wedding to do something together.

We love (especially if you’re not doing a first look) to try to plan some thing together in the morning to sort of length and the wedding day.

Annie right at the end of the day, I was talking to her, and she said ‘how is it done already’. I think it’s the most true cliché ever that it goes by in the blink of an eye. So anything you can do to lengthen the wedding day and set aside time together is definitely something we would recommend.

It makes it so nice when everyone can stay on the same property and the whole bridal party can stay there the night before.  It feels like it makes everything a little more calm, a little slower.

Sunset Portraits

I do feel like Annie and Santiago’s wedding day is the best plug ever for sunset portraits.  It think taking picture right after the ceremony is always fun because you’re just so excited.  But taking portraits in the mountains at sunset will forever be beautiful.  It was just incredible and I’m so glad they gave us this time.

They really had such a beautiful mindset on the day.  When you can go into your wedding day with the thought of “I’ve done everything I can do – and now I’ll step back and let my vendors take over” it makes it so you’re really able to enjoy the night.

We feel like we also need to mention that they had Ben & Jerry’s come for dessert. I think every single person we saw go up and order ice cream said it’s so much better than cake. Especially as we go into summer months, how nice is it to treat your guests to some cold ice cream. Especially in the midst of dancing in celebrating!?

Amazing – such an amazing day.  Enjoy some of our many favorites from this Marriott Ranch Virginia Summer Wedding day.

Congratulations y’all!
