Running the Race

If you’ve been following along on our blog or social media this summer, you may have noticed we have been a bit busy.  I am coming to terms with the fact that this is just what our lives look like.   We love filling our calendars up and would be bored out of our minds if we had a week without anything scheduled.  And if for some reason we do have a few “free” days, we fill it up crossing off some to-dos from our ever growing list, creating a new project to do in our home, or working on our big dreams.  We are busy people.. and while sometime that can be extremely stressful, we like our busy lives.. especially when it means we are busy with photography things!

Anyways, along with this busy life, we are big goal setters.  But as a result of being so busy with other things, we rarely get a chance to meet our big goals.. ohh it’s this maddening endless cycle.  Anyone feel me?

Well, one of our big goals this summer was to be really intentional about our daily devotionals.  And while we have been AWFUL at this, one thing we are really thankful for is our amazing church.  We attend Coastal Community Church, here in the heart of the Hampton Roads area.  It’s an amazing church, made up of some beautiful souls.  And they posts all their sermons online.  So while we hate when we are out of town on Sunday mornings and miss service, we love that we are able to watch the sermons later.

AND I have found that while it is sometime really hard for me to sit down and do a devotional, I love being able to pop in my headphones and listen to an old sermon while I’m walking Tusker.  So if you are looking for a way to add some more Jesus into your day, I highly recommend pulling up a sermon series while your walking the dog, driving to work, or doing the dishes.

To give you a taste.. skip to 45:47.. and be encouraged that when you stumble, you can get back up, dust yourself off, and continue on.   Now I think I’ll go do that devotional.
