Before we left for Kenya, we photographed our sweet, sweet friends’ maternity session! Yes, this means this adorable couple now has an 8 month old baby, and that we are way behind in blogging sessions. We may or may not have a family session we have yet to blog too.. But I couldn’t help but share a few of my favorites from their session! We went down to Newport News Park.. I had never been there.. It’s huge and amazing so go if you have a chance.. It was a gorgeous day and we were so excited to be able to capture this sweet moment in time for these amazing friends of ours. I can’t BELIEVE Asher is 8 months!!! and I can’t wait to see his sweet lil’ face.. and get him in front of our cameras again?!
One thing we really hope to do is help prepare our couples to have a relaxing, joyful day where they feel comfortable that everything will be taken care of.
The most important, without a doubt, number one thing that will aid you in a stress-free day is creating a good timeline. We give all our brides a suggested timeline and try to walk them through creating a solid plan – because your timeline will drive your day. And just like everything else with wedding planning, it’s hard to create a timeline for something you’ve never had to do before! That’s where your vendors come in. Trust the people you’ve hired to walk you through what they need. These are the people who’ve been to countless weddings and know how long things take. Use your resources, friends!
Part II – Not Quite Us So, we’d finally met in our senior year of high school. We became friends pretty quickly – playing numerous games of Sudoku in our shared government class.. A few months later we started hanging out outside of school. And a few months after that, we started to date, just […]
In coming to Africa we had so many uncertainties. Things that could have completely stopped our plans to travel to Kenya. Game changers. We had a house we needed to pay a mortgage on. I have medication that couldn’t be delivered to Kenya. We needed finances to fund our trip. We needed insurance. We had so many needs and so many obstacles in our way, but God was so faithful. We were confident that this was the path we were supposed to take. So we prayed and things began to line up. Amazingly. Miraculously.
For a quick overview..
Moving to Kenya, and turning down weddings CRUSHED me. So when we got an email from Ariel asking about a wedding right around the time we were heading back to the states, I flipped. I was so excited. Then I talked to her on the phone (not great reception in Kenya, but we made it work), and I was even more excited. I immediately knew she was going to be a blast to work with. AND she studied fashion!!! The girl is drop dead gorgeous AND has incredible style. I was so excited!!! We were bummed we weren’t able to shoot their engagements, but so glad when a new friend, Danielle Blocker stepped in and took some amazing shots for them.
So the day of the wedding we walked into the beautiful Victory Life Church in Hampton, not knowing a soul, and were immediately welcomed with open arms.
