Michael and I have been all over the place, so we thought it was time to blog and catch you all up on what we’ve been up to the last few weeks.
The end of July, Michael left for a work trip with his publishing company (did y’all know Michael gets contracted with the US Navy to go take pictures of the sailors on deployment?). While he was out of the country, I went up to Boston to help my sister move into her apartment/put together a ridiculous amount of Ikea cabinets and drawers. Then we went as a whole family to the Newport Jazz Festival!
A couple days after returning from a drive from Boston to Newport News, Michael and I left again to drive to Connecticut to visit with his family (poor planning on my part). After a short 13 hours, we spent a few days in Guilford and New London with Michael’s family. Got in a few squeezes with our niece and a game or two of Wits and Wagers and Telestrations (if you’ve never heard of either of these games, do yourself a favor and order them immediately. You’re welcome.), ate about a million fresh tomatoes from our uncle’s garden, and I finished the new Harry Potter in a day.
We drove home.. in a little better time.. picked up our sweet Tusker boy from my mom’s house.. and made it home in time to lead our Shoot & Share communities monthly meet-up. (If you are a photographer in the area, we’d love for you to attend our next meet-up! Email us at Michael and Laura Photography @ gmail . com and we will give you all the information!).
The next day we had a long morning of shooting senior formals. We are loving our senior sessions! And then Michael drove straight to DC to catch a flight to Malaysia, drive across the country, and hop on a ship for another round of portraits. While I headed back to Midlothian for a baby shower for my sweet-long time friend.
You guys.. that was all just our last TWO WEEKS (and only the highlights)! August is proving to be an absolutely crazy month. Hope you guys are enjoying your last bits of summer.. but I’m over here asking fall to come quickly.. bring on the sweaters, scarfs, and pumpkin EVERYTHING.
